We collect your email and resume data to make Jobtune work. We share text with OpenAI and audio with Sarvam AI to provide AI features. We never sell your data to third parties.
1. Data We Collect
To provide the Jobtune service, we collect the following categories of data:
Account Information: Your name, email address, and authentication data managed securely by Clerk. We store a reference ID (clerkId) in our database but do not store your passwords.
Resume Content: The professional information you provide, including work experience, education history, skills, and personal summaries. This data is stored in our database to power the resume builder.
Voice Recordings: For Mock Interviews, we process audio data through Sarvam AI. Audio files are processed in real-time to generate transcripts. We do not store raw audio indefinitely — recordings are discarded once transcription is complete.
Usage Analytics: Anonymized event data collected via PostHog in production environments to help us understand feature usage and improve the product.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to power and improve the Jobtune platform:
Resume Generation: Your resume content and job description inputs are sent to OpenAI GPT-4o to generate tailored resume content and ATS-optimized language.
Mock Interview Feedback: Your interview transcript (converted from audio) is sent to OpenAI GPT-4o to generate a structured feedback report with scores and improvement suggestions.
Product Improvement: Anonymized usage events are tracked via PostHog analytics in our production environment only, to help us prioritize development.
Support: If you submit a support ticket, your email and ticket content are used solely to respond to your request.
3. Third-Party Sub-processors & AI Partners
To deliver our services, we share data with the following sub-processors. We do not sell your data to any third party.
Clerk (Authentication): Manages user sign-up, login, and session tokens. Your credentials are governed by Clerk's own privacy policy.
MongoDB (Database): Stores your resume content, interview records, and support tickets on encrypted servers.
OpenAI (Text AI): Resume content and job descriptions are processed by OpenAI's GPT-4o API. We use the API under terms that restrict OpenAI from using API-submitted data to train their models.
Sarvam AI (Voice AI): Audio from Mock Interview sessions is processed in real-time for speech-to-text transcription and text-to-speech responses. Audio is not retained for model training where contractually enforceable.
PostHog (Product Analytics): Anonymized product usage events are tracked in our production environment. No personally identifiable resume content is included in analytics events.
4. Your Rights — GDPR / CCPA
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Right to Access: You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Right to Deletion: You may request permanent deletion of your account, resumes, and interview records at any time by emailing support@jobtune.io with the subject "Data Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days.
Right to Portability: You may export your resume data in PDF format directly from the platform at any time.
Note that anonymized analytics events cannot be retroactively deleted as they contain no personally identifiable information.
